On January 17, H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica attended the New Year’s Social Evening Party jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy and Dominica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event brought together approximately 80 participants, including Hon. Dr. Vince Henderson, Foreign Minister of Dominica, Ms. Barbara Dailey, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other officials from the Ministry, diplomats from the local diplomatic corps, and members of the Chinese Medical Team and the Confucius Classroom.  

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Chu expressed gratitude to Dominica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its support over the past year. He highlighted the significance of the Chinese New Year and conveyed his hope to further strengthen collaboration and deepen friendship with Dominica in the year ahead.  

Hon. Dr. Vince Henderson extended his New Year greetings to the attendees in Chinese during his address, commending the achievements of bilateral cooperation across various sectors in the past year. He expressed optimism about enhancing the partnership with the Chinese Embassy in the future.  

The reception featured a screening of a video named Spring festival, social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of traditional new year. Guests enjoyed traditional Chinese cuisine, participated in cultural games, and danced to vibrant local music, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration throughout the evening.
