On Jan 21, 2025, Mr. Wang Lei, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Chinese Embassy in India hosted a reception at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Delhi for Chinese New Year. Representatives from Indian government, political parties, diplomatic corps, enterprises, think tanks, media as well as Chinese enterprises and students attended the event. 

Mr. Wang Lei said that, thanks to the Chinese government’s calm determination and comprehensive policies, China's GDP grew 5 percent year-on-year to 134.9 trillion yuan ($18.41 trillion) in 2024, meeting its annual economic target. China is committed to pursuing higher-standard opening up, safeguarding free trade system as well as stable industrial and supply chains, working hand in hand with other countries on the road to modernization.

The Year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. China stands ready to work with the Indian side, forge a path for the neighbouring countries to coexist in harmony, maintain peace and tranquility in border areas,  usher in a new chapter of China-India friendship.
