Ambassador Cao Zhongming met with Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Mr. Seah Kian Peng on 3 February.
Ambassador Cao first conveyed to Mr. Seah Chinese New Year wishes and greetings from Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji. Ambassador Cao pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China-Singapore relations have maintained robust development. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. China stands ready to work with Singapore to enhance political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and strive for greater development at this new historical starting point. Built on the good cooperation between the National People's Congress of China and the Parliament of Singapore, the Chinese Embassy will further promote such exchanges and cooperation to contribute to the sustained development of China-Singapore relations.
Mr. Seah asked Ambassador Cao to convey his sincere greetings to Chairman Zhao Leji, and emphasized that Singapore-China relations are extensive and in-depth, underpinned by frequent and close high-level exchanges and fruitful cooperation in political, economic, and people-to-people fields. The legislative bodies of both countries have also maintained good communication and cooperation. The Parliament of Singapore will continue strengthen its links with its Chinese counterpart.
