Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guo Haiyan Pays a Courtesy Call on Hon.CS Salim Mvurya

On February 7, H.E. Amb. Guo Haiyan paid a courtesy call on Hon. Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, accompanied by Eng. Peter Tum, Principal Secretary for Sports.

Amb. Guo said that the foundation of China-Kenya relations lies in the people, and the future lies in the youth, while sports exchanges and cooperation serves as an pivotal bridge. She emphasized that China is ready to work with Kenya to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote the implementation of the China-Africa "Ten Partnership Actions", especially the Partnership Action for People-to-People Exchanges to consolidate the public opinion basis for building a even closer China-Kenya community with a shared future in the new era.

Hon. Salim Mvurya welcomed Amb. Guo Haiyan to her new post, and thanked China for its long-term support in Kenya’s sports infrastructure development and talent capacity building opportunities in the fields of youth, sports and creative economy. He further expressed that the Kenyan side stands ready to jointly implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of 2024 FOCAC and enrich the contents and connotation of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between Kenya and China.
