On February 10, Ambassador He Rulong called on the newly appointed Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir of Iceland.
Ambassador He Rulong said that the current development of China-Iceland relations shows a sound momentum, with fruitful cooperation results in such areas as economy, trade, geothermal energy and tourism. China is ready to enhance high-level exchanges with Iceland, strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote better development of China-Iceland relations.
Minister Gunnarsdóttir said that she attaches importance to developing relations with China and is willing to strengthen exchanges with China on expanding cooperation in economy, trade, green development and other fields with a view to further promoting the bilateral relations and jointly addressing global challenges.
