On February 13, H.E. Ms. Guo Haiyan, Ambassador of China to Kenya and Permanent Representative of China to UNEP, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Inger Andersen, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP).

Amb. Guo said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to ecological civilization and adheres to green and low-carbon developmentwhile actively carryingout cooperation with UNEPin many fields, havingachieved fruitful outcomes. Shelookedforward toworking closely with the Executive Director to deepen and solidify the cooperation between China and UNEP.

Ms. Andersen welcomed Amb. Guo to her new post and thanked China for its long-term support to UNEP. She hoped to continue to enhance cooperation with China in the fields of biodiversity protection, pollution prevention and control, and jointly tackle global environmental challenges.
