On February 13 2025, Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze met with Ricky Chong, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney. Consul Mr DONG Yubin and Consul Ms CHEN Xiaoxiao were present.

Dr Ruan said that Hong Kong's prosperity and development are inspiring, and its unique advantages will be more prominent on the journey of the Chinese modernization. Hong Kong and Queensland enjoy close economic ties. He expects to see that Hong Kong will play a greater role in the Greater Bay Area to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between China and Queensland.

Mr Chong gave a briefing on Hong Kong’s economic situation in the past year, and the achievements of economic and trade cooperation between Hong Kong and Queensland. He said that the Chinese Government's preferential measures to further deepen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland have brought opportunities for Hong Kong's prosperity.
