Chinese Consul General in Brisbane Ruan Zongze Attends the Lantern Festival Celebration Hosted by Queensland Jiangsu Association

On 15 February 2025, Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze attended the Lantern Festival Celebration hosted by Queensland Jiangsu Association and delivered a speech. Mr Jacky Niu, President of Queensland Jiangsu Association, Ms Corrine McMillan MP, Mr Michael Ma, President of the Queensland Chinese United Association and more than 200 members from local Chinese community attended the celebration.

Dr Ruan extended Chinese New Year greetings to the guests. He said that the trade volume between China and Queensland exceeded A$40 billion in 2024. China has been Queensland's largest trading partner for many consecutive years. The Chinese business communities in Queensland have played an important role in that. He expects that all parties will work together to promote more fruitful cooperation in various fields between China and Queensland in the new year.

Ms McMillan MP extended New Year greetings in Chinese. The guests said that they would continue to carry forward the spirit of “Jiangsu businessmen” and contribute to deepening pragmatic cooperation between China and Queensland.
