On March 25, Her Excellency Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, Yan Jiarong, met with the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, Fred Mitchell, who bid farewell to the outgoing Counselor & DCM Cui Wei and welcomed the newly appointed Counselor & DCM Zhang Hongliang together with Bahamian officials.
On March 27, the Chinese Embassy hosted an exchange event for Counselors & DCM rotation. Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, Jerusa Ali, led major officials to attend.
Ambassador Yan highly affirmed the contribution made by Counselor & DCM Cui to the development of China-Bahamas relations and warmly welcomed Counselor & DCM Zhang's assuming office. She looked forward to the continued support to the Embassy from The Bahamian side and joint efforts to develop bilateral relations. Counselor & DCM Cui reviewed his work experience in The Bahamas and wished that China-Bahamas relations would continue to grow steadily. Counselor & DCM Zhang said he was honored to work in The Bahamas. He would fully follow the direction of Ambassador Yan and work with all Bahamian friends to promote the deepening and substantive development of China-Bahamas relations.
The Bahamian side expressed appreciation and gratitude for Counselor & DCM Cui's contributions during his tenure, welcomed and expressed support for Counselor & DCM Zhang, and the willingness to continue to work closely with the Chinese side to push the bilateral relations to a new level.
