Chinese Embassy in Iceland Holds a Roundtable on China-Iceland Economic Cooperation and the “Two Sessions”

On March 31, Ambassador He Rulong attended a roundtable on China-Iceland Economic Cooperation and the “Two Sessions”. Representatives from the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman Jónína Bjartmarz of Icelandic-Chinese Trade Council, and Chief Executive Officer Pétur Óskarsson of Business Iceland, as well as senior executives from leading Icelandic companies including Arctic Green Energy, Keflavik Airport, Carbon Recycling International, and Aðaltorg Ltd participated in the event. Icelandic media such as RÚV Channel 2, Morgunblaðið, Iceland Review, and Iceland Times were present to cover the event. Counselor Yang Jing and Counselor Dai Ke of the Chinese Embassy also attended.

Ambassador He introduced the global significance of the steady momentum of China’s economy and its high-quality development, pointing out the broad prospects for China-Iceland cooperation in green development, mutual learning between industries, and cultural exchanges. He emphasized that China will play a stabilizing role in the world with the certainty of its own high quality development, and that China will continue to open still wider to the outside world, and share opportunities and address challenges together with all countries, including Iceland.

The Icelandic business leaders shared their success stories of working with China, acknowledged the vast opportunities the Chinese market offers, and expressed their willingness to deepen partnerships with China for a win-win cooperation in the future.
