On April 4th, Consul General Li Nan visited St Columb's College, met with the principal Caroline McLaughlin, and Deputy Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Alderman Darren Guy. They exchanged views on deepening education cooperation between the both sides.

Consul General Li highly praised the school's emphasis on Chinese language education, which has effectively promoted cultural exchange and people-to-people ties between China and Northern Ireland, encouraged the students to deeply explore the Chinese language and culture, and noted that the Consulate General will continue to serve as a bridge for the school's cooperation with China and welcome more students to visit China to personally experience Chinese modernization, and become ambassadors of friendship between China and Northern Ireland.
McLaughlin introduced the school's efforts in Chinese language teaching, cultural exchange, and special activities, expressing a willingness to cooperate with China to carry out more cultural exchange activities and guide students to pay attention to China's development.
