On April 15, Ambassador Cong Peiwu held a media briefing for several mainstream Iranian media, including IRNA, Tasnim News Agency, Farsi News Agency, ISNA and Tehran Times.

Ambassador Cong Peiwu introduced Chinese Government’s Position on Opposing U.S. Abuse of Tariffs, and promoted the spirit of the Central Conference on Work Related to Neighboring Countries. He emphasized that, no matter how the external environment changes, China will remain confident, stay composed, and concentrate on managing its own affairs well. China is willing to work with Iran to jointly resist unilateral bullying and safeguard international equity and justice. Ambassador Cong also answered questions from journalists on the SCO summit in China this year, China-Iran relations, and the Iranian nuclear issue.

Iranian media reported the media briefing actively, highly appreciated China's important contribution to safeguarding the common interests of the international community, criticized the U.S. for arbitrarily imposing unilateral tariffs for its own selfish interests, and stated that all countries, including Iran and China, should strengthen solidarity and cooperation and jointly oppose all forms of unilateralism, protectionism and hegemonism.
