On April 21, 2025, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with the Acting Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Kuwait Duaij Al-Otaibi.

Ambassador Zhang pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the practical cooperation between China and Kuwait has achieved fruitful results. China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Kuwait in the civil aviation sector to facilitate personnel exchanges and make greater progress in our exchanges and cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, culture and tourism.

For his part, Duaij stressed that enjoying long-lasting friendship with China, Kuwait attaches high importance to its relationship with China. Direct flights from Kuwait City to Guangzhou have made exchanges and business cooperation between us more convenient since this route was launched in 2020, becoming a popular route for Kuwait. The DGCA will continue to increase communication and cooperation with the Chinese side so as to make positive contributions to the further growth of bilateral relations.
