On April 22, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin met with the President of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) Sylvia Schwaag Serger. They exchanged views on practical cooperation in scientific and technological innovation between China and Sweden.
Ambassador Cui introduced the new achievements China has made in implementing the innovation-driven development strategy and promoting high-quality development. He emphasized that China and Sweden enjoy strong complementarity in sci-tech innovation, application and commercialization, as well as a good foundation and broad prospects for cooperation in multiple fields such as life sciences and green and low-carbon development. He expressed readiness to continuously deepen open scientific research, strengthen exchanges, increase mutual visits, and enhance practical cooperation with the Swedish side.
President Serger briefed on the cooperation between IVA and China, underscoring that China is an important innovation partner for Sweden. She expressed readiness to promote scientific dialogue and deeper understanding between China and Sweden in various fields, further enhance mutual trust, explore new paths and models for China-Sweden and China-Europe sci-tech innovation cooperation, and better realize the common vision of benefiting society through science and technology.
