On 25th April, H.E. Mr. Kong Xianhua, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Maldives, arrived in the Maldives to assume office. He was received at the airport by Mr. Amin Javed Faizal, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, officials from the Protocol Department, as well as senior diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.
Ambassador Kong expressed that he is deeply honored to be appointed by H.E. President Xi Jinping to serve as the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives. Both sides are committed to building a China-Maldives community with a shared future, ushering in a new phase of rapid development in bilateral relations. Ambassador Kong stated that he will earnestly implement the outcomes of the central conference on work related to neighboring countries, accelerate the implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and work to further deepen and solidify the China-Maldives Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The Maldivian side warmly welcomed Ambassador Kong’s assumption of office, expressed its willingness to provide all necessary support and facilitation for the fulfillment of his duties, and affirmed its readiness to work closely with the Chinese side to continuously advance bilateral relations and achieve new progress.
