On April 26, H.E. Consul General Wang Yu attended the 2025 Dragon Boat AusChamps Welcome Function and delivered a remark. Over 80 people participated, including Mayor of Penrith Todd Carney, AusDBF Chair Peter Campos, representatives of local Dragon Boat clubs and Director of HKETO Ricky Chong.
Wang Yu said, originating in China, dragon boat race is enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds in Australia. This sport is not only about healthy competition that brings out the best in each other, but also carries the spirit of unity and cooperation. Nowadays, individual country abuse tariffs, seriously undermining global economic stability and international fairness. This makes it even more important for us to learn from the spirit of dragon boat race which is to build consensus through unity, and to work together to face risks and challenges.
The 2025 Dragon Boat AusChamps last for six days and attracts over 2,500 athletes.
