On April 29, Ambassador Fan Yong met with Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Hon. Nelson Ramaotwana and Assistant Minister Hon. Augustine Nyatanga. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral Judicial cooperation between China and Botswana.

Ambassador Fan said that judicial cooperation is an important part of bilateral relations. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. China is willing to work with Botswana to further strengthen judicial cooperation, so as to safeguard the well-being of the people of both countries and defend fairness and justice with concrete actions.

Ramaotwana introduced the functions of Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services. He expressed that Botswana admires China's achievements in economic development, legal construction and other fields. The Botswana side would like to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides in areas such as judicial assistance, crime fighting and legal education.
