On April 17, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on the newly-appointed Director General of the National Planning Commission of the Republic of Namibia, Hon. Kaire Mbuende and exchanged views on the development cooperation between China and Namibia.

Zhao congratulated Hon. Mbuende on his appointment as Director General of the National Planning Commission of Namibia and briefed him on the relevant development cooperation projects between China and Namibia, saying that the Chinese side will actively implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation with Namibia and continue to provide assistance to Namibia's economic and social development to the best of its ability.

Mbuende thanked the Chinese side for its long-term support for Namibian social economic development, saying that Namibia and China are good friends and hope to expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields with China.
