On May 1st, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Munyonyo Women's Industrial Park in Uganda and delivered a speech. Hon. Hajjati Minsa Kabanda, Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hon. David Bahati, State Minister for Industry at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. Evelyn Anite, State Minister for Investment and Privatization, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Ms Elizabeth Kasenene, Chairlady of African Women in Processing Uganda, as well as representatives of Lady Justice, Uganda National Bureau Of Standards and enterprises in the park attended.
Ambassador Zhang congratulated the groundbreaking of Women's Industrial Park. He said China has always supported Uganda's independent development and self-reliance, as well as industrialization process. China is willing to work with Uganda to implement the outcomes of the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation through cooperation in agriculture, processing and capacity building, and promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative in a high-quality manner to achieve common prosperity.
Uganda sides thanked the Chinese government for the the support to industrialized transformation and social economic development in Uganda, and welcome Chinese enterprises for further trade and investment cooperation.
