On 28 April 2025, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane Dr Ruan Zongze met with Mr Graham Perrett, the House of Representatives for Moreton, Queensland for a friendly exchange. Consul Mr SHI Wenhua was present.

Dr Ruan expressed the appreciation to Mr Perret for his contributions to deepening China-Australia friendship and supporting the development of the Chinese community. Dr Ruan introduced the spirit of the Central Conference on Work Related to Neighboring Countries, clarified Chinese government's position on opposing US abuse of tariffs, and reiterated the one-China principle.

Mr Perrett said that Australia and China both belong to the Asia-Pacific region. The two countries have complementary economic advantages and huge potential for cooperation. Both sides should further strengthen cooperation and respond to challenges.
