On 7 May 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, met with the new Commissioner of Police of The Bahamas, Ms. Shanta Knowles, expressing gratitude and appreciation to her for the quick solution to the shooting involving a Chinese citizen. The two sides also exchanged views on China-Bahamas police exchanges, protecting the life, property, and other legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in The Bahamas.
