On May 11, Ambassador Huang Shifang attended the "Prize Giving Ceremony for Outstanding Achievers in Chinese Language for Primary & Secondary Schools in Mauritius, Academic Year 2024" held at the China Cultural Center in Mauritius and delivered a speech. More than 160 people attended the event, including Hon Mr. Osman Mahomed, Minister of Land Transport, Hon Mrs. Karen Foo Kune-Bacha, Junior Minister of Youth and Sports , Hon Mr. Eshan Juman, Member of the Parliament, and representatives from Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, United Chinese Association, the Mandarin Teachers' Association, the China Universities Students Association, and Head teachers, teachers of relevant schools, award-winning students and their parents. Yang Jun, Director of China Cultural Center in Mauritius also joined the event.

Ambassador Huang said that Mauritius is a diversified country and Chinese culture is an integral part of its multicultural fabric, which provides an unique advantages in learning Chinese for Mauritian young people . She encouraged the award-winning students to combine their linguistic advantages with their personal career development and contribute to the future development of Mauritius and the friendly relations between China and Mauritius. China will continue to work with Mauritius to create better conditions for those who love to learn Chinese.
