May 13, 2025, Ambassador Fan Yong pays a courtesy visit to Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Botswana Hon. Noah Salakae. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in infrastructure construction and other fields between China and Botswana. Assistant Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Keoagile Atamelang was present.

Ambassador Fan said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana, bilateral relations have developed well and the two countries have supported each other in international affairs. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Botswana. China is willing to deepen cooperation in infrastructure construction and economic development with Botswana under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the "Ten Partners Initiative", promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges, and effectively enhance the well-being of the people of the two countries.

Minister Hon. Noah Salakae highly appreciated China's achievements in economic development and said that Botswana hopes to learn from China's experience and further strengthen practical cooperation between the two sides in transportation and infrastructure construction and other fields.
