On May 13, 2025, Chinese Consul General Xu Wei met with Mostafa Zahirinia, President of the University of Hormozgan.

Consul General Xu said, as comprehensive strategic partners, China and Iran have witnessed deepening cooperation in various fields, increasing exchanges among universities and think tanks, and solidifying popular support. As the host country of this year’s SCO summit, China stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Iran within multilateral frameworks including the SCO, so as to uphold the “Shanghai Spirit” and create a better future together.

Zahirinia said, Iran and China share a traditional friendship, and the SCO provides a broader platform for bilateral cooperation. The University of Hormozgan is ready to leverage ‌the unique role of academic institutions‌ to enhance cooperation and academic exchanges with China, thereby further enriching the bilateral friendship.
