On 14 May 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas gave an exclusive interview to Eye Witness News to introduce Chinese President Xi Jinping’s important remarks and the key outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum. Ambassador Yan stated that President Xi Jinping and leaders from Latin American and Caribbean （LAC）countries have reached broad consensus, charting a blueprint and providing strategic guidance for the future of China-LAC relations. The Meeting has yielded fruitful and tangible outcomes, opening a new chapter in building a China-LAC community with a shared future. In response to questions, Yan emphasized that China is a true friend and brother to the Global South, including LAC countries. The deepening of China-LAC and China-Bahamas friendship and cooperation is part of the Global South’s pursuit of mutual benefit, solidarity, and self-reliance, and represents a voluntary choice by both sides in addressing current and future challenges. The development of friendly and cooperative relations between China and LAC countries brings real benefits to their peoples.
