On 10 May 2025, the 24th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition Queensland Final for College Students and the 18th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition Queensland Final for Secondary School Students were held in Brisbane. Chinese Consul -General Dr Ruan Zongze attended the award ceremony and delivered a speech. The competition was hosted by the Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane and co-organized by the Confucius Institutes of Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. Ms Li Suyun, Chinese Deputy Consul-General,Prof. Gu Yuantong, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology, Mr Ben Bawden, Manager for Queensland Relations of Study Queensland, Ms Shan Xuguang, Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute for Tourism at Griffith University, Ms Chae Swindell, Officer for Global Engagement for Department of Education International,contestants, parents and instructors about 80 people attended the event.
Dr Ruan said that it is so encouraged to see more and more Australian friends learning Chinese. Your excellent performance makes me full of confidence in the future of China- Australia relations.
