On May 14, Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania H.E. Chen Mingjian held a media briefing at the embassy, themed "United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 is Unshakable, and the One-China Principle Must be Upheld". 11 Tanzanian and Chinese media outlets, including The Daily News, The Guardian, Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation, and Xinhua News Agency, attended the event. 

Ambassador Chen expounded the historical context of the Taiwan question and the essence of UNGA Resolution 2758, and stressed that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory from historical, political and legal perspective. She refuted the deliberate distortions and challenges to UNGA Resolution 2758 by some people in the United States, highly appreciated Tanzania’s steadfast adherence to the one-China principle and expressed hope that Tanzania would continue to resolutely oppose any form of “Taiwan independence”, support all efforts by the Chinese government to achieve national reunification, and defend the victorious outcomes of World War II together.

Ambassador Chen also answered questions from the journalists.
