Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai Meets with Minister of Solid Minerals Development of Nigeria

On May 15, 2025, Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Dr. Oladele Henry Alake, Minister of Solid Minerals Development of Nigeria.

Ambassador Yu stated that last September President Tinubu paid a successful visit to China , during which our two heads of state announced the upgrading of our bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and agreed to strengthen cooperation in the development of energy and mineral resources. Mining cooperation between China and Nigeria is experiencing rapid development, with remarkable achievements and enormous potential. China stands ready to work with Nigeria to implement the important consensus reached by our two presidents. We will deepen our mining cooperation and strengthen capacity in minerals exploration and exploitation, so as to enrich our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Dr. Alake spoke positively of China-Nigeria relations, and said Nigeria always welcomes qualified Chinese mining companies to invest and operate in the country. Under the guidance of our two presidents' important consensus, we are willing to introduce advanced technologies and management experience from China and to deepen our cooperation in mining, for the steady and sustained development of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
