Chinese Embassy in Mauritius Hosts Welcome Reception for Ambassador Huang Shifang

On May 26, Chinese Embassy in Mauritius hosted a welcome reception in honor of H.E. Dr. Huang Shifang.  Ambassador Huang was joined by the Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, Vice President Robert Hungley, Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger, Speaker of the National Assembly Shirin Aumeeruddy-Cziffra and many other dignitaries. Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Mauritius, representatives from the local Chinese community and friends of the Embassy were also present.

In her remarks, Ambassador Huang spoke highly of China-Mauritius relations. She promised to faithfully fulfill her duties to push forward the bilateral strategic partnership, by promoting bilateral exchanges and communication at all levels, so as to consolidate political trust and expand cooperation with regards to economy and trade, the blue economy, sustainable development, digital infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges. She emphasized China was very much looking forward to Mauritius’ joining in the Belt and Road Initiative at its earliest convenience, so that the two sides would be further engaged in building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

Ambassador Huang and her guests made a joint toast to common prosperity of China and Mauritius and their everlasting friendship. The guests congratulated Ambassador Huang on her newest assignment and expressed their best wishes to the bilateral relations for continued progress and more fruits.
