Chinese Ambassador to PNG Yang Xiaoguang Meets with Trade Commissioner of Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PTI) China

On May 22, Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Yang Xiaoguang met with Mona Mato, Trade Commissioner of Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PTI) China. Counsellor Jiang Chengsen of the Chinese Embassy and PTI China staff members attended the meeting.

Ambassador Yang provided a comprehensive overview of the economic and trade relations between China and PNG, noting that in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China-PNG cooperation has achieved fruitful outcomes, delivering tangible benefits to both countries and their peoples. He welcomed PTI China’s greater contributions to promoting trade cooperation between China and PNG. China is willing to work with all Pacific Island countries, including PNG, to elevate economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and the Pacific Island countries to a new level.

Mona Mato stated that PNG is the largest exporter to China among the Pacific Island countries, and the prospects for economic and trade cooperation between China and PNG are promising. PTI China remains committed to strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between China and the Pacific Island countries and is eager to make active contributions to regional economic development and the  people’s well-being.
