Ambassador Yang gave a comprehensive overview of the history of the Taiwan question, emphasizing that the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 fundamentally resolved the issue of China’s representation in the United Nations, and it covered the whole country, including Taiwan. The resolution made it clear that there is but one China in the world and Taiwan is part of China. “The status of Taiwan has yet to be determined” is an outright lie. China is willing to work with PNG to consolidate the political foundation of bilateral relations and bring the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new height.

The PNG side stated that PNG has firmly adhered to the one-China principle since its independence, supports China’s efforts to safeguard national reunification, and looks forward to further deepening exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields.

Ambassador Yang gave an interview to the PNG media at the event.
