On 26 May 2025, Chinese Ambassador of China H.E. Zhang Jianwei paid a farewell call on H.E. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Alahmad Alsabah. 

Ambassador Zhang expressed gratitude to Sheikh Jarrah for his strong support during his tenure. He noted that under the strategic guidance and personal care of the two heads of state, China-Kuwait political mutual trust has deepened, cooperation across various fields has yielded fruitful results, and the two sides have consistently supported each other on issues concerning their respective core interests, bringing bilateral relations to the best period in history. China is willing to work hand in hand with Kuwait to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.  

Sheikh Jarrah spoke highly of the progress in Kuwait-China relations and commended Ambassador Zhang’s important contributions to promoting friendly ties and practical cooperation between the two countries during his tenure. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm adherence to the One-China principle and expressed Kuwait’s readiness to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continuously advance bilateral relations.  

Earlier, Ambassador Zhang also paid separate farewell calls on Assistant Foreign Ministers of Kuwait for Asian Affairs, GCC Affairs, International Organizations, Protocol, and Human Rights.
