On June 2, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Zhang Jianwei and his wife Miao Haiyan hosted a farewell reception at the Chinese Embassy. Over 500 guests attended this event, including senior officials of Kuwait such as Minister of Finance Nora Al-Fassam, Advisor at the Amiri Diwan Mohammad Abu Al-Hassan, President of Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) Adel Bouresli, Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Mohammad Al-Jassar, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, friends from various sectors, diplomatic envoys in Kuwait, and representatives from Chinese enterprises and local Chinese communities.
In his speech, Ambassador Zhang reflected on his work in Kuwait over the past three years. He stressed that under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of the two nations, China-Kuwait cooperation has achieved fruitful results in various fields, and bilateral relations have been at its best in history. He extended his heartfelt thanks to friends from all walks of life for their great efforts in promoting the growth of the China-Kuwait relationship, and expressed his firm confidence in an even brighter future of bilateral relations.
On behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat spoke highly of Ambassador Zhang’s work and emphasized the willingness of the Kuwaiti side to work with China to further deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas.
The reception took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, as guests took photos with Ambassador Zhang and his wife and gathered to bid farewell to them.
