On 30th May, H.E. Ambassador Xiao Jianguo was invited to attend the Filial Piety Gathering in Honour of the Local Chinese Elderly hosted by Fuzhou Shiyyi Association.

Ambassador Xiao extended Dragon Boat Festival greetings to the local Chinese community and expressed his appreciation to the Chinese community in Brunei, represented by Fuzhou Shiyyi Association for carrying forward the traditional Chinese virtues of respecting elders and honoring family, infusing the local society with a harmonious and friendly culture. Ambassador Xiao further introduced the guiding principles of the Central Conference on Work Related to Neighboring Countries, and encouraged the Bruneian Chinese community to continue to serve as a bridge for practical cooperation between the two countries and a bond for people-to-people exchanges, so as to make greater contributions to the building of a China-Brunei community with a shared future.
