Consul General Chen Shijie attended the opening ceremony of the New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays 2025 held in Hamilton on 11 June. He was joined by Hon. Todd McClay, New Zealand Minister for Trade and Agriculture, several Members of Parliament, local government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives from the business community.

During the event, Chen held cordial exchanges with Hamilton Mayor Paula Southgate, Waikato Regional Council Chair Pamela Storey, and other dignitaries. He also visited Chinese exhibitors, offering encouragement and support to the participating enterprises.

Established in 1969 and held in June annually, the Fieldays is the largest and most influential comprehensive international agricultural trade exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere. This year, it is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors. Leading Chinese companies—including LiuGong, XCMG, SANY Group, JAC Motors, GMW, BYD, and DJI—are showcasing a wide range of products suited to the local market, such as agricultural machinery, electric vehicles, and agricultural drones.
