On June 19, 2025, Ambassador Hou Yanqi attended the 22nd Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) Plus Three.During the meeting, all parties discussed progress in the implementation of the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Cooperation Work Plan (2023-2027) and future direction of APT cooperation.
Ambassador Hou stressed that growing economic and trade ties contribute to upgrading APT cooperation and inject strong impetus into regional integration. All parties should uphold true multilateralism and open regionalism, unite against unilateralism and protectionism, implement the leaders’ consensus and the APT Work Plan, leverage the APT as a main vehicle of East Asia cooperation, and maintain the momentum of rapid regional development.
The ambassadorscommended achievements of the APT cooperation, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation in economy and trade, finance, food security, emerging industries, sustainable development, and socio-cultural exchanges, so as to jointly maintain regional industrial and supply chainstability,enhance connectivity and strengthen economic resilience.
