Chinese Consulate General in Perth Holds a Movie Reception

On 21 June, the Consulate General of China in Perth hosted a movie reception to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, showing the movie “The Tokyo Trials”. More than 60 representatives from various circles including politics, business, overseas Chinese, academia and research in WA attended the event.

Consul General Long Dingbin stated that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the 80th anniversary of recovery of Taiwan. China made a great contribution to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. Chinese people firmly oppose all forms of hegemony and power politics, uphold the spirit of remembering history, honoring the fallen heroes, cherishing peace, and forging a shared future. China will continue to work with peace-loving peoples around the world to promote and defend peace, undertake the solemn mission of opposing war, maintaining peace and creating a better future.

“The Tokyo Trials” tells the story of the trial of 28 Japanese Class A war criminals for their crimes against peace, humanity and conventional war crimes during the Second World War by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East in 1946, alerting the world to shoulder the responsibility of preventing the recurrence of historical tragedies.
