On 20 June 2025 , Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane Dr Ruan Zongze met with Mr Michael Healy, Member for Cairns and Queensland Shadow Minister for Tourism, Jobs and Training, in Cairns.
Dr Ruan said that, President Xi Jinping, in his congratulatory message to Prime Minister Albanese on his re-election, emphasized that further strengthening cooperation between China and Australia is of great significance for achieving common development of the two countries and promoting peace and stability in the world. The Chinese Consulate-General is willing to work together with all sectors of Queensland to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and make positive contributions to the steady development of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Mr Healy MP welcomed Dr Ruan’s visit to his electorate, fully acknowledged the importance of people-to-people exchanges in Queensland—China relations, and expressed his willingness to enhance the friendship between the peoples of Australia and China.
