On June 24, Chinese Ambassador to PNG H.E. Yang Xiaoguang met with Minister for Transport Hon. Miki Kaeok. They exchanged views on China-PNG relations and transportation cooperation.

Ambassador Yang said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of our two countries, China-PNG relations have maintained a positive momentum of development. Chinese enterprises have actively participated in PNG's infrastructure construction, including roads, bridges, and airports, making significant contributions to PNG’s economic and social development. China will continue to adhere to the principle of “four fully respects” in developing relations with PNG, and deepen cooperation with Department of Transport to further promote the China-PNG comprehensive strategic partnership.

Hon. Kaeok expressed gratitude for China’s long-term support for PNG’s economic and social development. He said that PNG is rich in natural resources and has vast development potential. The Department of Transport is willing to deepen cooperation with China in the planning and construction of highways, railways, ports, airports, and other infrastructures to achieve more practical and tangible outcomes.
