On 25 June 2025, Long Dingbin,Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Perth,attended the Welcome Ceremony of the exhibition “Terracotta Warriors: Legacy of the First Emperor”and celebratory events in Perth. Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian delivered a video address. The event drew over seven hundred attendees, including Hon Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Creative Industries; Heritage; Industrial Relations; Aged Care and Seniors; Women(Representing Premier Roger Cook), Hon Sheila McHale AM,WA Museum Board of Trustees Chair, delegation members from Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration; representatives from the Western Australian Museum, and other distinguished guests.
Consul General Long stated that cultural heritage represents vital achievements in human civilization and serves as a crucial vehicle for mutual learning among civilizations. The exhibition of precious artifacts like the Terracotta Warriors in Western Australia stands as a vivid example of both the "Global Civilization Initiative" and the UN "International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations". This cultural exchange will further strengthen China-Australia people-to-people bonds, deepen dialogue between the two civilizations, inject new momentum into mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples, and contribute fresh impetus to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Co-organized by the Western Australian Museum, Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration, and Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum, the exhibition will run until 22 February 2026.
