On 2nd July, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, met with H.E. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

Ambassador Wang briefed Speaker Abdullahi on the important outcomes of the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of the Follow-up Actions of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) as well as the latest developments of China-Somalia relations. He highlighted that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Somalia, and China stands ready to deepen cooperation and promote friendship with Somalia.

Speaker Abdullahi spoke highly of the Somalia-China relations, and expressed gratitude for China’s long-term support and assistance to Somalia. He also fondly recalled his visits to China, applauded China's development achievements and expressed his commitment to promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
