On 3 July, H.E. Jiang Feng, the new Head of Chinese Mission to the AU, presented Letter of Credence to H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, AUC Chairperson, in the presence of Minister Zhang Wei, Senior Colonel Guo Baojian, Minister Counsellor Lv Ruihao, AUC Cabinet of Chairperson Chief of Staff Mr. Mohamed El-Amine Souef, Spokesperson Mr. Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, etc.

Amb. Jiang conveyed the cordial greetings and good wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He appreciated the important roles played by the AU and Chairperson personally in promoting peace and security in Africa, leading African integration, and voicing the call for justice for Africa. He expressed his willingness to join hands with the AU in implementing the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and building an All-Weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the New Era.

Chairperson Youssoufasked Amb. Jiang to convey heartfelt greetings to President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and welcomed Amb. Jiang to his new post. He spoke highly of the AU-China relationship, and expressedreadiness to strengthen coordination and deepen cooperation with China as a reliable and dependable partner, injecting more certainty into an uncertain world.

Amb. Jiang arrived in Addis Ababa on 1 July to assume his duties.
