Chinese Consul General in Auckland Chen Shijie Meets with AUT Vice-Chancellor Damon Salesa

Consul General Chen Shijie met with Auckland University of Technology(AUT) Vice-Chancellor Damon Salesa on 10 July, exchanging views on strengthening cooperation between Chinese and New Zealand universities. Vice Consul General Wang Junchao and Head of the Vice Chancellor Office Amy Malcolm also attended the meeting.

Salesa introduced AUT’s cooperation with Chinese universities, as well as study support,employment training and mental health service for Chinese students. He noted that AUT will uphold international strategy and further strengthen joint programs and faculty exchange with China.

Chen introduced the significant progress of bilateral relations  in recent years through the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and New Zealand,acknowledged the AUT’s achievements in collaboration of education and international strategy, appreciated AUT’s efforts in providing Chinese students with quality academic and living conditions, and invited the university's leaders and faculty to visit China to explore further collaboration opportunities. The Consulate-General is willing to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
