On July 15, Consul General Pan Qingjiang attended the awarding ceremony of the China–South Africa Learner Correspondent Short Video Competition, which was hosted by Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg. Over a hundred representatives of winning learners, teachers, family members, local education departments and media were present.
In his speech, Consul General Pan said that China-South Africa friendship has traveled a long span of time and has defied the obstacles of mountains and oceans. The future for a lasting China-South Africa friendship rests with the young generation. The Consulate will continue to actively promote educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Attendees spoke highly of the close bilateral bond and expressed gratitude to the Consulate for providing the platform for youth development and exchange.
The event featured screenings of outstanding entries, performances, and Chinese culture-experience programs, and echoed with warm and positive response.
The competition, which lasted one month, attracted nearly 200 participants from over 80 schools across Gauteng and Free State.
