On July 30, the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia hosted the seventh China-Gambia Bantaba. H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin and nearly 100 young Gambians who had recently been invited to China gathered to discuss China-Gambia friendship.
H.E Ambassador Liu said that the visits of Gambian youthto China represent a journey of empowerment, sharing, and friendship. He emphasized that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and expressed hope that Chinese and Gambian youth will cherish peace, promote global peace and development, and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Hon. Pierre Gomez,Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology of The Gambia, thanked China for supporting the development of Gambian youth. He encouraged the youth heading to China to achieve success and contribute more to national development and China-Gambia friendship.
Invited guests shared their reflections, and expectations about their trip to China, praised China's development path and achievement, and expressed their willingness to serve as ambassadors of friendship between China and The Gambia.
H.E. Ambassador Liu and Hon. Minister Gomez presented admission notices to Chinese Government Scholarship recipients. The young Gambian arts group “Flex Fuzion” performed a percussion show, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
