On 29 July 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, attended and delivered a speech at the closing of the Workforce Readiness Program held by the Zonta Club of New Providence. Mrs. Janet McKenzie, President of the Club, and Ms. Latia Duncombe, Director General of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation also attended.
Ambassador Yan highlighted the achievements of Chinese women’s development and the upcoming Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Beijing, expressing China's willingness to work with The Bahamas to review the spirit of the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women 30 years ago, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the women's field, continuously advance the protection of women's rights and interests, and promote the healthy development of the global women's cause and solidarity and cooperation.
The Bahamian sides thanked the Chinese Embassy for its strong support for the cause of Bahamian women and look forward to the Global Women's Summit in Beijing.
