On August 12, Consul Gerenal Zhao Xiuzhen was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the 11th Durian Festival in Davao City.

In her addresss, Consul General Zhao stated that China's vast open market offers tremendous business opportunities for the Philippines and countries around the world. She expressed hope that China and the Philippines would further strengthen communication and exchanges to deepen and solidify agricultural cooperation between the two nations.

Officials from Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Tourism (DOT) Region XI, as well as the President of the Durian Industry Association of Davao City (DIADC), emphasized in their speeches that China is the largest importer of Philippine durian. They expressed willingness to jointly promote deeper cooperation in agriculture, trade, and tourism between the two countries.
