On 14thAugust,H. E. Ambassador Xiao Jianguo presented the Chinese Ambassador Award to nine Bruneian students in conjunction with Universiti Brunei Darussalam 37th Convocation Ceremony and had friendly exchanges with Guest of Honor Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transportation and Infocommunications of Brunei, Attorney General Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib, Vice Chancellor of UBD Yang Mulia Doktor Hazri bin Haji Kifle and the awarded students.

Ambassador Xiao congratulated the students on their successful completion of university studies and on receiving the "Chinese Ambassador's Award", encouraging them to deepen their understanding of China and actively contribute to the friendship between China and Brunei. Ambassador Xiao emphasized that China is willing to further deepen cooperation with UBD to support Brunei's national development and contribute to the friendly relations between the two countries.

UBD thanks the Chinese Embassy for its active support in funding educational initiatives and stated that it would continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation to nurture more outstanding talents for Brunei's economic diversification and the friendly ties between the two nations.
