On August 26, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Solomon Islands held a meeting to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Ambassador Cai Weiming attended the seminar, which was joined by the Ministry of Public Security’s police liaison team to Solomon Islands, the Chinese medical team, representatives of Chinese enterprises, and members of the overseas Chinese community in Solomon Islands.
Ambassador Cai reviewed the history of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War, emphasized China's significant contributions to the victory of the war and the peace and development of the world. He pointed out that Taiwan's return to China is an important part of the outcomes of the victory in World War II and the postwar international order. He encouraged the overseas Chinese community in Solomon Islands to follow the trend of history, uphold national righteousness, firmly oppose separatism and promote reunification, and contribute to the peaceful reunification of the motherland and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The participants enthusiastically expressed their views, stating their commitment to carry forward the patriotic tradition, promote the great spirit of the War of Resistance, firmly support national reunification, and contribute to China-Solomon Islands friendship and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
