On August 29th, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, attended the second “Meet China in Africa” event at YEKA Agricultural Demonstration Base in Ethiopia and delivered a speech. Around 60 guests from the AUC, Addis Ababa Farmers and Urban Agriculture Development Commission, the 4th Chinese Agricultural Expert Team and diplomats from the Mission were present. Minister Zhang Wei and Minister Counsellor Lyu Ruihao also participated. 

Amb. Jiang pointed out that agricultural cooperation serves an important cornerstone of China-Africa partnership. China will continue to uphold the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in its cooperation with Africa, firmly support Africa in advancing agricultural modernization, and contribute to building a China-Africa community with a shared future.

On behalf of H.E. Moses Vilakati, AUC Commissioner of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment (ARBE), Ms. Patience Muhuriro expressed sincere appreciation for China’s generous support to Africa in agricultural modernization, poverty alleviation and sustainable social development. She said that the AUC is committed to further strengthening China-Africa friendship and deepening practical cooperation in agriculture to achieve food security for Africa.
